“He Shouldn’t Have Done That”
20ga 2-3/4” 1.5oz @1300fps

Patterns excellent and as we all know speed kills

Have to upload all of the info on Foxtrotammo and then can be ordered

Awesome crimps! Those look great bud. That's how I like them deep crimp, tight center and tapered crown. Looks like you got the MEC dialed in.

Not to be argumentative in any way, but why do you think speed kills? I see no reason to increase the speed of TSS shells to 1300 fps unless I was trying to increase penetration beyond what is required for turkeys, e.g. using 9s to kill geese, coyotes, etc. Since TSS 9s have sufficient penetration to kill turkeys to 74 yds at 1100 fps and the pattern isn't going to hold up beyond that, I see no advantage - only lots of additional recoil. However, I will admit that choices are good, and those are some beautifully made shells.

Using less shot and making it faster makes up for a lighter load and retaining energy. In my theory anyways 😆. And concerning recoil, less felt recoil in the semiauto over the heavier pay load. In the Encore 20 it feels about the same to me

Another advantage can be that speed can help open up a pattern a little quicker. So you can run a fast load for a bit more open pattern and a slow load for a tighter pattern with the same payload, choke, gun etc.. patterning will determine if this is true for your setup, but it is typically the rule, not the exception that speed "blooms" a pattern faster

I have the 8point crimp starter, do you think it makes a difference between 6and8?

I have often wondered why people are sending Tss fast , when i load my 2 3/4" lead of 1 3/4oz lead 2s the pattern very well at 1150fps any more they open up too much and ive taken long range geese with this load . I just cant fire too many as they bunch a fair bit lol. So why send it fast or is it because of of using a smaller pellet ie 9s ?. I am tempted to get a 20g and try some tss for geese just not sure what payload would be needed for pass shooting geese ?. I know Hal has the data but has anyone done much 20g tss on geese.?

Ive read others say diminishing returns on speed. But I haven’t had bad patterns yet from speed with fold crimps.

More speed is just all around better in my opinion with a lighter load.
