Tristar Viper G2 Pattern

Post by huntinsomd »

Went out to check my Tristar .410 for the last time before season and was satisfied with the results. Patternmaster choke and handloaded 10's. 186 in the 10" at 40yds.

I need to try some of those 10's. Nice pattern!

Thanks...I think 10's are perfect for a .410 bore. Although pattern is still good at 50, I have no need to shoot that far and 10's should have plenty of energy at 40-45.

Not quite sold on 10’s. They will kill no doubt but I am hearing a lot of the pellets not penetrating through like the 9.6’s and bigger pellets.
Good to see pattern master shooting that well.

I surely don't have the knowledge or information to use that you do. I'll give them a try this year if I have the opportunity, but I'll definitely keep in mind that the pellets probably don't have nearly the energy of 9's or 9.5's.

Update...

I’ve found that 10’s are viable in a 410 at intended ranges.

Can a 410 reach out to 50 consistently and ethically if needed? Using #9.5 or #10 Tss

Yes. But as in all types of guns and loads you might have to pick your shots in a woods etc that’s really dense

Open fields shouldn’t be a problem with 9.5-10’s

Seen on die in Florida at 55 yards
