Tristar 410 Turkey

Post by rbros »

One of my wholesale catalogs has a Tristar Viper G2 410 in bottomland with a pistol grip. What are guys thoughts on them for a youth turkey gun? I purchased my 8 yr old grandson a 301 turkey in 410, but the Tristar looks like a better gun and would probably have less recoil as well being a gas gun. With a red dot, the LOP shouldn't be to horrible and he would be able to use it over the next couple seasons before stepping up to a 20 ga.

I have a tristar 410 auto. It is a soft shooter and I have a 10 and 7 year old that shoots it very well and are not intimidated by it at all. The LOP is too long for the kids and needs to be shortened.

I got a TriStar G2 turkey .410 last year for my wife, and it will be to long for kids. She didn’t have time to hunt very much last season, so I had to break it in!!! It's a great little turkey thumper!!!

Thanks guys. I was wondering about the length. May just get him a 20ga youth gas gun then he will be good for years. Are you finding the 410 pattern is a little touchy for a kid starting out? Meaning more pellets would be better.

I regret not buying one when I had the chance. In the market if anyone knows where I could find that bottomland Turkey Version, or if you can get more than one rbros and don't mind passing along.

Indian Creek just released chokes for the TriStar 410 they have them in three constrictions 380 385 and 390 I bought a 385 choke from them its on the way in the mail to me now,

Just a note they are not finishing the chokes black so you will have to finish them by painting them, etc.
