Barrel Shortening | CZ Mallard

Post by FalconIII »

Hello. First time posting. Does anyone know if you can shorten the barrel on a CZ Mallard? It has a vented rib between the top barrel and the bottom barrel, and I wonder if that would somehow limit the ability to chop the barrel off. I’ve never seen that in an over and under shotgun before. Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.

Your gun, your dime, but I wouldn't even think about it. My Beretta O/Us have 28" barrels and I have never found that length to be a problem (but then, they are not dedicated turkey guns either). But an O/U with 28" barrels is about the same length as a repeater with 24" barrels, and you get the twin advantages of higher velocity and decreased muzzle blast. Anyway, to each his own and good luck with the project.
