Re: Gobblers on the limb

It tends to cause him to stay on the limb longer. The thought is he will stay in the tree wanting to see that hen on the ground Before flying down. I don't have proof whether that's true or not, but I have seen gobblers in the past stay in the tree for long periods of time while being called to. Bu...

Re: 20 Gauge Semi Suggestions

I don't know anything about a max 1 1/4 oz load for my Weatherby. She shoots 1 5/8 oz TSS loads just fine.

Technically, your cheek weld should not have any affect when using a holographic red dot...that's one of their selling points.

Re: Red dot zeroing issue

I've used a lead sled for years with my rifles and my shotguns and have never had any type of issue. This year, however, my 20 ga shoots dead on with the lead sled but then when I shoot off my knee the gun shoots high. All the turkeys I've killed this year have had no shot what so ever in the breast...

Miss Beardbuster Strikes!!

My daughter and I had fantastic hunt this morning! The old boy read the script perfectly and came in gobbling and strutting just like a TV show. She handled my little 20 ga perfectly and the 1 5/8 oz TSS load did its job. I thoroughly enjoy seeing her so happy with a successful hunt! https://uploads...

Re: Weatherby SA459 trigger

I let a local gunsmith in North MS do mine and it came out real nice. The trigger is light now with only a very little creep. Lightest shotgun trigger I've ever felt now.

Youth Model 870 21" barrel

I'm gonna be honest. It's hard to say. None of my 870 21" barrels like open chokes. I had to choke the crap out of them to get the numbers I wanted. I ran IC555 and IC562. If you want a choke that is guaranteed to shoot good consistent patterns go with the IC. The others mentioned...Carlsons 5...

Re: SILENT SPRING?????

I've hunted in MS the past 15 years and I can most definitely say that the population where I hunt is not what it used to be. I still hear birds gobbling and I still kill birds but its just not like it was 8 or 9 years ago. I can't really say the population decline is due to any one thing. I am conc...

TSS through Trulock HW7 Choke Tube?

The Trulock HW 7 choke is .560. At least that's what it is for my Rem 870.

RSF vs IC .555

RSF also didn't perform well in my 870 youth. I've tried several chokes and I'm still searching. I have. IC 562 on the way now to try.

Killed my first tss bird

Congratulations! I am new to TSS also. I've killed a few birds this year but nothing over 40 yds. Are you shooting a 20 ga? Also, are you shooting one of Hal's loads?
