I got shipment confirmation this morning for the .410 hulls I bought Wednesday.
FYI - they still have Cheddite 3” .410 hulls available.

Re: Season dates and time to use calls post here
I’m completely fine to get it whenever it works out, but just FYI - my mid-May hunt is an out-of-stater. We’re planning to leave in the evening 5/19 so it will have to get here by then. At the end of a long turkey season, I doubt I’ll be able to talk my wife into running it up to Nebraska for me.

Re: 2021 Travel Call
I always enjoy a good travel call picture. Plus, the call we used last year had some powerful turkey juju. Count me in.
I’m planning a quick jaunt through MS and AL March 18-21, TN for the duration (April 3-May 16), and a Nebraska trip May 20-23.

Re: Speed bead mount vs receiver mount.
I don’t use a speed bead personally. I just feel like wedging the mounting plate between the stock and receiver cannot possibly be as secure as screwing a mount onto the receiver. But admittedly, I know several who use them and none have had a problem losing zero. One advantage of the speed bead is ...

Re: advantages of a trumpet
I don’t think there is anything remarkably special about trumpets other than they sound a little different that friction or mouth calls. And on any given day a particular gobbler may respond to a particular call but not another. They give you another option in the rain. And you can cup your hand ove...

Re: Looks like snowmeggadon?
We have 6-7” of snow siting on top of 1/2” of ice from the freezing rain and sleet we got late last week. It was 0 degrees when I woke up this morning with a windchill of -11. My well pipes have frozen twice. I managed to get that thawed out, but then my central heat went out last night. We got by a...

Re: Daddy-Daughter Duck Hunt
I appreciate the kind words. Since I had kids I’ve spent an inordinate amount of time thinking about the best way to introduce them to hunting. It’s going really well so far. On the boat ride out from this hunt she looked up at me smiling and said “Daddy, I can’t wait to tell all my friends about du...

Re: Tom Kelly needs a hunting partner in Maryland
Hard to believe that a man as connected as Tom Kelley has to put out a want ad to find someone to take him hunting. Just doesn't sound reasonable.. Just saying.. I get what you mean, but I can also see how it might happen. I have a great uncle about that same age. Still sharp as a tack, but no one ...

I would damnear fly to Maryland from Tennessee and pick him up if I knew where a turkey lived there. That man is an absolute legend.

Daddy-Daughter Duck Hunt
I took my son (5) on a hunt with me earlier this year. When my daughter (3) woke up and asked where we were, her momma told her we were duck hunting. She sat in her bed and cried because I didn’t take her too. So I promised her a hunt with just the two of us. Ducks have been spotty at best all seaso...

Hey guys I know I’m probably a little behind the 8 ball but I am looking for a reasonably priced out of state hunt with recently purchasing a new house I didn’t plan anything and cancelled my merriam hunt but would like to hit a state or two! Any suggestion would be great thanks a ton! Are you look...

Re: Hevi-shot is in the bonafide TSS game
Hevishot is a great American Company that makes darn good shotgun shells not sure why that is so hard to fathom. It’s hard to fathom because those with enough ballistics knowledge to evaluate it (there’s a lot on this forum) know the last part to be false. They USE to make fine shotgun shells. Then...

Re: Astigmatism and red dots?
Thanks for the info. They said his right eye is noticeably worse than his left. He’s a lefty, so at least his dominant eye is his good eye. Since I never really hunt with my 12 gauge anymore, I’ll probably take the FF off that and mount it on his little .22 next year and let him get use to it with s...

Astigmatism and red dots?
My son is 5. He’ll be 6 in May. He probably won’t be ready to start shooting turkeys until spring of ‘22, but I’m getting him started shooting. He got a Savage Rascal .22 for Christmas and absolutely loves shooting it. I already have a nice .410 setup. I found an extra wood stock for the gun and cut...

OK, since this thing went sideways, Brice is just going to take the lowest # and the highest # and go from there. It was supposed to be 1, 2, 3, 4, etc. As you can see that didn't happen. Anyway, several people have the same #. Please go back and survey if anyone else has the same # as you. If so, ...

UltraDot tube-style red dot sight?
I came into possession of one of these recently. Didn’t know much about them so I looked them up. They are more expensive than I realized. Seems like they are popular for pistols. Small size, light weight, and no magnification. Seems like those characteristics would also make it a fine sight for a t...

I tried fire sights rifle-style before going to a Burris Fastfire. If you took away the fastfire, I would probably just go back to a bead.

Re: Frank, the fatass buck.
No new pictures of Frank yet, but he didn’t show up until October last year. But since this thread got resurrected, he’s fresh on my mind. One of the oddest things about him last year was how he morphed over just a few months. He was a stud when he showed up in October, but he wasn’t abnormally thic...
