Re: Mossberg 835 recoil
My 1187 supermag was way worse than than my old 835. Shooting same 3.5 loads. The 1187 went down the road. The 835 has a forever home in the safe due to all of our adventures in the turkey woods.

Re: Turkey vest!?
I have hunted an RNG 200 ripoff for 3 weeks almost everyday thru Fl swamps and Southeast clearcuts, ect. It wears real well and is comfortable for an old mans bony shoulders. lol. Plenty of room for my stuff although it did force a cutback and some decisions (which I needed to do anyway).

Re: Kansas Walk In Access
My experience is several years old. You can download all the WIHA and gps locations from the KS website. Use onX or similar for roads to get there. We just used an atlas road map and I downloaded to a handheld gps. Onx wasn't around then. I seem to remember that online if you clicked on an area it t...

Handy! use hot glue, if it comes off you have lost a scrubby pad. As long as the sound suits you ..... all that matters.

Re: Advice on setting up a muzzle loading shotgun
I have several but if I am serious I grab the TC New Englander. Also look for the TC system 1. Its an inline and has several interchangable barrels, including a 12 guage with screw in chokes. Got that one too but prefer the sidelock. I use the same thin OS that I use for reloading the roll crimps. S...

Re: Lonnie Sneed
Lonnie's slate and green glass are flat out killers! He also makes a Raspy Boss Hen in slate that's a good one. Yes, they are abit rough around the edges but the turkeys DO NOT CARE. It a truly a handmade folk art classic and his prices are VERY affordable for what you are getting. And at his age he...

Re: Thoughts on a 4Runner
Tires and wheels should interchange but their are several options from factory to custom, lift, ect. Theres good info out there that I have used often to switch tires, wheels from older PU's, to tacomas from 4 runner and fj crusier, ect. Some 6 lug chevy wheels work too. Here is another link. https:/...

Also have Yingling copper. Best pot I have ever used that consistently fires up and challenges old hens. Its nasty raspy and irritating I guess.

Re: 410 vs 20ga youth starter gun
Dont think this was mentioned but which ever guage you choose (I would favor the 410 for average size kids under 10 - 12), Keep in mind length and weight. Most young kids dont have the muscles or longer arms of old kids. Without a tripod or rest, one of the biggest difficulties I have encountered wi...

Good change. If there is ample metal to work with, and a cut to 19ish should be plenty. Winckoke /Invector will give you the most choke options to choose from.

Looks like the OP found what they wanted. But another vote for boot blankets. Always a must have when taking the wife or kiddo's. Really extended their time in the woods.

Re: 28 gauge o/u
Jim, I am guessing a trigger job by a good smith would be more effective than the cost of a new gun. That is if all other aspects of the Tristar appeal to her. If it doesn't you should be able to find a few good gun options. I have to say I have never had any issue with a CZ. Not to bad on the pocke...

Re: Finish on boxes
Lacquer finishes are very popular with majority of callmakers. It looks great! But they dont hold up in weather. If it just looks like rain they will spot. As to the OP question, there are acrylic sprays that are basically clear. Good hard shell finish and likely the least effect on wood color. Or p...
