Finally a different stock option for Stevens 301 .410

I just purchased a 3D printed adapter for my 301 .410. The adapter allows you to use any mossberg 500 stock. I went with an AR style stock so that my 5 year old could shoot it. Shortened the length of pull to 10.5”. Only $25, shipping included. Get ahold of Seth Hathcock on Facebook. If anyone who d...

Re: .410 or 20 for kids?

This year I bought a .410 for my son. I rolled up some TSS with some load data from Hal. I’ve killed a bird in KY and IN with it. My fiancé killed her first bird with it this week as well. She made a shot that was not ideal but folded the bird. Body shot it at 25 yards. It was her third time ever be...

Re: Steven’s 301 Trigger

Mine was the same way. I emailed their customer service and complained about it. I said I bought it for kids to use, and with that heavy of a trigger it is to DANGEROUS for them to use it. They sent me instructions on shipping it back to them. In a couple of weeks I got it back. 100% better. In the...

Re: .410 cleaning and polishing

Deep clean once a year, bore snake at least after shooting a bird, typically just the dry bore snake does the trick. I keep a bore snake in my turkey hunting gear bag that goes with me all spring. If I hunt in some rain or think the barrel is dirty I may swab it out with some Butch's bore shine, bu...

Do you have any pictures by any chance. I patterned it at 40 but wasn’t super impressed. Dead turkey, but had too many voids.

Re: .410 cleaning and polishing

Polishing can improve patterns, clean vs dirty barrel seems to be dfifferent from gun to gun. I don't have a clue if mine shoots better dirty or clean, I patterned it clean so it is repeatable. Not sure if guys test to see if it shoots better after 1,2,3 shots dirty or not? Not interested in playin...

Re: .410 cleaning and polishing

Get yourself a bore snake for swabbing the barrel between shots, does a good job and is a lot quicker. Bought a bore snake while I was out today. Here is a 30 yard pattern of Verdict ammo with a Burris fast fire 3. Super impressed with the stock choke. Cleaned the barrel every round or every other ...

.410 cleaning and polishing

I’m seeing some guys clean their .410’s after every shot when sighting them in. Is there any reason for that. Are you not able to shoot 10 plus times without cleaning. Or does it effect patterns. Also seeing some information on polishing or honing. I don’t know if that’s necessary or if it will be. ...
