I think it becomes noticeable past 40, and at 60 you should be nearly a foot low. From the patterning Ive done over the years with.

Re: Rossi 410 choke thread issues
Do your factory chokes thread in?
The thread is 1/2x28. Not that you can get a die over it but the bottom diameter of the choke should measure .470" with a .010" relief before the threads. and after the threads. If you have access to a set of OD and ID mics you can verify

Re: Turkey vest!?

Its seen its better days, so Id like to upgrade as well but dont have a way to try/touch many of these vests out these days. I...

Re: Aging gobblers via roost bone
So what your saying is the roost bone on an older bird will be flatter?
Slightly bigger in surface area and more flatter with each passing year of roosting?
I ask bc i have never heard this term before.

Re: What Choke for Stevens 410 and Apex Turkey Ninja Combo?
Man there has to be some major inconsistencies in these 301’s. Mind with Apex ninjas, a Carlson choke shoots pretty good at 40. Id try the Indian creek. That would be my next check on the list I really think there is, I have a few different chokes for my 301, I have actually even machined a few of ...

Re: Hammer bullets
Hammers are the best on the Market! I started loading them recently and will be loading them in every caliber i own. Pushing a 80gr HHT in my 6.5prc at 4k! Nearly makes the 22-250 a 22Creedmor. These hammers make small bore guns achieve big bore results! What if I shoot them in a big bore, do resul...

Young tender oats are hard to beat, almost as good as when they mature and seed out. Red heads and deer both love em.. You should sling some clovers into there before your next rain and have a really nice plot by next spring green up!

Re: Weatherby Element 20ga pattern
Very nice! I have a cheap Cabelas Turkey Tube,.570 in my 301, that I took to work and machined (3) ID steps into, and it shoots 300-330 in 10" at 40 with 8.5s. No complaints from me

Re: Question for TSS shooters/hunters
Took a bird that i thought was 50yrds, ended up being 64 big paces across a freshly plowed field. My 20ga shoots 1-5/8 Handload of 8.5s extremely well so I wasn't worried, as long as I did my part. Held about 8" higher than normal and the bird tipped over, never even flopped. The main reason I ...

I like to buy a new turkey Gun every year also. And will be getting another 28ga. Not sure which one yet. SA28 or Tristar G2 maybe? I'm cheap and this will be one of the nicer more expensive guns ill own. lol. I don't own any new/newer semis. Might make this one a semi if they are light enough.

Re: Going to take the T$$ plunge choke recommendations please
Your .665" should be money. The IC .660" is Flat nasty in my 12ga guns with FoxTrot Annhilators. Shoots an extremely tight pattern of 9s, and 8sover9s. Theres nothing cheap about TSS, Especially if you are looking for Maximum Effective range, that takes patterning and experimenting to achi...
