Re: Weatherby element turkey 20ga

If anyone would happen to know the true weight of the 20 gauge Element would you care to let me know? I am seriously thinking about buying one if they are under 6 pounds. TIA Just picked one up. It weighs in at 6.2lb on my digital scale. Wow that's a chunker. Does anybody know if Weatherby makes a ...

Re: 16 ga Compact 870 weight

Steel receivers make these guns so heavy. A 7# 20 gauge is a chunker.

Re: My BPS

now smash that subscribe button.............LETS GO!!!!!! LETS GO!!!!!!!!! To each his own. I actually run a 5.5lb gun with a Alpz Grand Slam vest (which is pretty heavy - not gonna lie). But I've had many birds that I've killed with that vest that would have been impossible to kill without it, so ...

Re: My BPS

Gun weight only makes a difference if you have long hikes every day. When you are putting 1-3 miles on your boots every day, or walking from your SxS to your ground blind, weight is moot.

Re: SA28 full size stock

Never heard of such. I've never hunted a blind and don't recall ever thinking shorter length of pull would help me in any way because I had my back against a tree. A shorter barrel, sure, but not a shorter length of pull. If it works for you, great, but it has no impact on the style of hunting one ...

Re: SA28 full size stock

DIY a spacer. Never understood the compact craze, gun fit still matter for turks. The full length LOP of a shotgun requires proper shooting form, that means you have to lean forward on the gun to get proper cheek weld. When we hunt turkeys, often we are leaning back on a tree or twisted. If you are...

No Camelbak pouch or anywhere to attach the hose on the shoulder strap. Who is carrying a bunch of water bottles in 2023?

Re: 1st dedicated turkey gun help!

Nobody can tell you what's gonna be the best performing choke/load combo. It takes tinkering and trying things out. Apex/Foxtrot and IC will more than likely give you a good killing combo. But it might not be what your gun likes for optimal performance. Get a box of TSS and a choke and try it. If it...

Re: 20 gauge turkey gun

Do not shoot the gun! I had the same gun fit issue with a 20ga Affinity Compact I bought this year. The receiver and forend had a small gap. Spent several days trying to diagnose the issue. I bought a replacement forend thinking it was a defect in the forend. But the new forend didn't fix the issue....

Re: Florida WMA Quota Hunts 2023

I am in the same boat. Have not drawn a spring quota in Florida since 2019. Up to 4 preference points now. Maybe 2024 will be the year.
There is no doubt turkey hunting has seen a resurgence in popularity, and several online personalities have brought OOS attention to our state.
