Re: camo netting- will this help?
This will 100% help. As far as the realness of it in the woods? I can honestly say that I have shot birds using it with some additional coverage in front and shot birds with no additional coverage, so it is up to you. I don't think it matters much. I also have stuck-up my Double Bull Ground Blind in...

The gun Gmed has for sale is top notch....if I was in the market I would look at that.
M2's are really nice for sure, but the Franchi's are right up there.
That's where I would start.

Re: modifying Franchi stock
I would agree. I have a Franchi A3 in a compact version and the distance from the grip to the trigger is longer than any other gun I have. Apparently they contracted Arsenio Hall to design that portion of the gun. :D My theory is that the Franchi's possibly were originally made with waterfowl hunter...

Re: New See Thru Blind.
If I were you and I was leaving it out in the woods I would turn it inside-out a-la Kramer and the reverse peep-hole. That way you would know if anyone was in your blind before you got in.
Just a suggestion!!!!

Re: Favorite Turkey?
I can't take credit for this one...but it is something that happened to my son. He is at college in a different state with a declining turkey population and he had been scouting hard for turkeys last spring. He knew where there was one bird that was always roosted along a field and he went in early ...

Well I ordered a couple pieces of gear for this turkey season. I'm convinced it will probably make me tag out in the first 3 days of the VA season since I have 3 tags. I'll have to report back on their performance! I got these 2 things. https://www.sitkagear.com/products/equinox-guard-hoody/optifad...

Re: Choke tube for Affinity
Looks like you got an Affinity 3, same gun as me. Try the choke you have and see how it performs. I shoot a Carlson's 0.568 LBXR and shoot Fedeal TSS. Good out past 40, no problems at 20. Plenty of pellets to kill in the 10" ring and plenty of pellets on the outside to give someone who has the ...

Re: Franchi affinity 20g choke recommendations
This is the exact gun I have - Franchi Affinity 3 (compact) with a Burris FF3 on it. I bought 2 chokes. A 0.555 and a 0.568, both in the Carlson's. After shooting both LBXR shells and Federal TSS, I ended up with sticking with the 0.568 choke. The 0.555 was WAY to tight for me, I like a little room ...

: Picked up a few different brands of mouth calls. The Dead End callers in the contests all sounded superb so I bought a three pack of their calls. After looking for a vestless alternative I picked up an Alps sling pack to try this spring. Some pants on sale from Roger’s sporting goods and some Ape...

Re: 410 vs 20ga youth starter gun
Good points here...but one of the comments reminded me of something. As my kids got older and were tagging along more I got to think about not only gun safet, but carrying a gun in the woods, leaning against trees, putting then in cases in the cars, keeping the muzzle pointed in a safe directly, etc...

Re: 410 vs 20ga youth starter gun
My youngest daughter was a little recoil shy so I went the cheaper route and started her in a Stevens 301 .410. It is super light, basically no recoil and no sound. The weight is great, she can carry it, handle it properly, etc.
I would start there…..
