Re: Gun Suggestion
OK, I just got a text from a buddy of mine. He is looking to set up a dedicated turkey gun with a red dot type sight and asked me what he should get. He said he'd like to keep it to $1500. He also asked if he should get a pump or auto. I've been out of the shotgun world.......as far as for myself, ...

Franchi Affinity 3 Elite 20 Ga final reduction
I haven’t shipped a firearm to an FFL in a loooong time so not sure what that would cost. This is a Franchi Affinity 3 in Optifade Timber color. It’s a 20 gauge. It is factory cerakoted in cobalt grey to match the stock. It came with the 26” barrel. It has a one piece weaver base attached that can b...

Re: 870 Fresh From Ceracote Shop
Went a little darker. Midnight burnt bronze on my 870. My cerakote guy custom mixed to match the darker brown in the Mossy Oak on the little Stevens 301. I kinda like em both.

Re: Suspicious Package
Backed a rookie city officer on a traffic stop one night. I watched the passenger, who was seated in the car, while the city officer gave sobriety tests to the driver at the side of the car. I noticed the passenger fiddling with something at his feet and advised the city officer to be aware. He walk...

Heck…don’t blame you for that. That’s a little ridiculous.turkeyinstrut wrote: ↑March 9th, 2024, 4:43 pmI ordered 3 FF 4’s from them back in late summer, it took them 34 days to ship them from the day I ordered them. They will never get another dollar from me.

Re: ISO choke tubes
I would guess it takes the Win Choke tubes which are also interchangeable with Browning Invector, Mossberg 500, Savage and Stevens. Should be able to find them about anywhere.

Re: Range Estimation
I am a self imposed 40 yarder myself. I find it easier to estimate 20 yards to a tree, shrub or something in a field for field birds, then double the distance. It’s usually hard to miscalculate 20 yards, so if I double it, I know I am in the park. It’s hard to say how many birds are “missed” and tur...

Re: Stevens.
I’ve had two….still have the compact model. Both liked the .570 for a plenty hot but also huntable pattern. I got around 300 in the 10” circle at 40 yards using Apex Ninjas 8.5 shot…..not much difference in numbers at all using the 22” barrel over the 26” barrel….
