Re: New to the forum with 835 choke questions

Thanks but I guess my 1st question is, if I get an Indian creek choke, should I keep trying the .675? Which is what most people on here seem to reccomend for the 835 or try another constriction? IC only shows two available for my gun. What sighting system do you have? A indian creek 675 is going to...

Re: Scalarworks on M2 20 gauge??

Yes that’s what I’ve been shooting for 3-4 seasons now. Between me and my son it’s taken about 20 gobblers. I have not had any issue. Mine has the Trijicon SRO. If they’d make one for the fastfire footprint that would be cool I used a torque wrench when I mounted it to avoid overtightening and risk...

Scalarworks on M2 20 gauge??

Anybody drilled and tapped a Benelli M2 20 gauge for a scalarworks mount??? I have a M2 that I'm wanting to drill and tap, I really like the scalarworks mount setup and would like to use it on this project. Unsure if there is enough "meat" at the front of the receiver to allow this to happ...

Re: New with 835 choke questions

I'd buy an Indian Creek turkey choke and go from there. They are very consistent and work well in my turkey setups.

Re: Best box call?

I have several trophy calls but my favorite two are a Richard Hudson Hen Box and an Albert Paul that coincidentally plays as good as anything I've ever played and it's never had chalk on it. What wood combo is your Albert Paul? I have been wanting to get one of his calls Not to be a jerk but its th...

Re: Glass Pot call- what am i doing wrong

Have you conditioned your striker tip(220 grit sandpaper)? Depending on how your storing your call you might have to condition the calling surface more often. The yelp can be accomplished several ways, I use a semi C motion with light pressure on the striker. Have you tried switching strikers? Than...

Love the looks of that 20 gauge. Something about the old school original bottomland dips from back in the day.

Re: Sharing todays frustrations

Based on your description of your hunt one thing I would recommend is positioning yourself to the direction of the nearby gobbles asap. It sounds like you waited and then it was too late to make adjustments when birds were in eyesight. I try to point myself best as possible toward the bird that is g...

Re: Best box call?

Lots and lots of great callmakers out there. Know what you want in a call- loud and raspy, softer young hen, etc. Once you know that reach out to callmakers and they can set you up with what you are looking for. I like Gobbler Nations "Firedup" calls alot. S&S, Jeff White, Jeff McKamey...

Sir, factory Remchoke.
Great that you got to keep factory remchoke threads. Definitely a win & win, getting barrel shortened and remthreads.

Mike Yingling sends a striker with his calls that is a carbon style, it sounds great. I also use a JLH frogwood on it, both sound excellent.

Re: Turkey vest!?

The grounded vests are really nice. A few of my buddies hunt with them. I'm still in love with my alps grand slam, but do have fox vest that I will break out and hunt too. My gripe with most vests is seat deployment, most use magnets that dont hold. I can assure you the grounded vests will hold. I m...

Re: 870 trigger assembly

Could mean two things on old style. The older trigger assemblies were made from aluminum and not polymer and some in the early 2000s had the j lock safety feature. You can see if it has the j-lock from photos of the side of the safety buttons. I bet it is probably just meaning it is an aluminum hou...
