Re: Coronavirus aka Chinavirus
Whether it's catastrophic or not, it is additive to whatever we had before (flu etc.). 10% downturn doesn't matter, unless YOU are in the 10%.

Re: Coronavirus aka Chinavirus
I went to scout turkeys at Ft. Jackson at 4:30 this morning. There was a line (though short) at the main gate. Gate guard walked back and checked my ID and said they will take our temp at the gate. Car in front of me got turned away. Heard 3 gobblers, saw two in the fields. So it was worth the troub...

Rush's in Camden is closed. Positive Corona case yesterday. Turkey numbers are good. Weather is good. Where did the $45 mil for Camden come from? Haven't seen that.

I hope we respond better than Italy has so far. Time for everyone to step up. We are tough, but we have to drop politics and economics and being self centered. It will take all of us doing stuff we don't want to do to beat this. Road to recovery will be long but doable. But we are the USA!

Re: Coronavirus aka Chinavirus
Think what you want. Conspiracy. Media hype. Democrats. Anti-Trumpers. This is REAL. My little Sleepy Hollow town of 8,000 in SC has the most cases in the state. Over 30 as of today. Middle age / seniors doesn't matter. Town hospital already over capacity with flu patients and other issues. Gonna ex...

Experienced a similar issue with muzzle loading rifles and 777 powder. Drill on end of cleaning rod helped a bunch.

Me too. Had a hard enough time accepting synthetic stocks and matte finishes. Showing my age I guess.

Ditto what BeardBuster said. But then my run and gun years are long gone. I am fortune to be able to pattern and sit. Lounger is the turkey equivalent of my Lazy Boy recliner.

Re: Stevens 301 stock xtra full choke?
Only way to know is to shoot your stock choke. U may be happy with it. My results were similar to Guesswho. I bought a .385 and .390 IC and shoot Hoobillies Stroker 383s. My .390 is more forgiving at under 40 yds than the .385. But I am fortunate to hunt private ground and unpressured birds in SC an...

Really? Guys get in shape for turkey season? I'm with Camoman and Gar Commander. But then I follow bird dogs and squirrel dogs Sep-Mar. That alone makes a guy drink Wild Turkey! No time or energy left to eat.

Went from 6.5# to 4# +/- on my digital trigger scale. My sear surfaces were pretty smooth already. Left them alone except for greasing the contact surface. Not Timney good but better than stock. Probably had 150 rounds shot thru it already at doves, no problems so far.

Gil, same here. Too many Boykin breeders (there aren't many even here 10 miles from where they were developed) breed for field performance. We had to go to hunting English cockers to get any prey drive. We use them to flush birds in front of bird dogs, retrieve quail, doves and summer ducks.I'm work...
