Look at CameralandNY. I bought a German Precision Optics(GPO) last year in 4x12x42. A lot of scope for the money.

In order to pinpoint sound the amplifier must be in your ear.
With muffs the amplifier is in the outside. They magnify the sound but won’t help with directional sound.

You won’t see much difference in them. Mostly need to pattern with the right choke for what you want it to pattern like
