Re: Bacterial tick infections/disease
A friend of mine was misdiagnosed and has suffered ever since. He has now committed to helping others combat this disease by battling with infectious disease doctors who are still clueless about Lyme disease. He belongs to a local and National outreach group and travels across the country, making pe...

Re: Remington 870 20 - choke options
I can't say much about the 18.5 barrel but I own 2 and shoot both 21" and 26". The .555 has too hot of a core for me but the Carlons .568 and Sumtoy .562 work well, tss. If you can find one, my daughter shoots lead, and the Remington extra super full, .572 shoots very well @ 40...

Re: Tristar Cobra
I picked a used .410 from a Cableas gun library brand new never fired for youth hunts and squirrels. Finding chokes is almost impossible. Tristar always tells me that they are waiting for the stock. I put a Carlsons TSS .390 in it for Foxtrot 383 strokes #8s for turkeys. Tristar folk told me it was ...

While waiting for the first gobble at dawn, a meteorite, very low, sailed across the atmosphere leaving a vapor trail (like a jet) above me...very cool, and landed close!

Re: Tristar Cobra II pump .410 choke help
I called Tristar again and ordered some chokes directly from them for the gun. They didn't have any full in stock only IC and IM. The gentleman I talked with was knowledgeable. He knows of the issue and recommended getting chokes from Carlsons. They are located not far from each other and their sale...

Tristar Cobra II pump .410 choke help
I am looking for help finding the correct information. I called Tristar asking what size choke thread fits their Cobra II .410 pump shotgun. So I ordered a Beretta/Benelli Mobile full flush mount from Midway USA. To my dismay, it does not fit. Does anyone have the correct information...thanks

Re: Wild Turkey Science Podcast
I found it on YouTube and found it interesting... seems like trapping is the primary key to suitable habitat which we all know. In my area a few years back there was an outbreak of rabies in the coon population. The biologist dropped "baits" for control; two seasons later, there was a slig...

Re: Binos for turkeys
My favorite turkey spots have long fields of 300 to 500 yards so I use a small light pair of compact Cabelas Intensity 12 x 25. Good glass for the money. I want to identify the bird clearly before I make a move. I use them for deer hunting and also...

Re: More Yildiz O/U testing
I gave up searching for Fiocchi golden pheasant and a member on here suggested the Ballistic Products archive 20 gauge heavy turkey load recipe so I ordered #7s nickel plated and went with IM Trulock .601 for 0- 25 yards shots, pattern is good, even, hunting pattern, Using "Lil Gun" powder

Re: Over/under suggestions
I have a Stevens 555, 20 gauge and the POA was decent... I also have an NWTF Tristar camo upland 20 and POA was off a little, so I threw a Venom red dot on it with a Meadow creek rib mount. If you're going with a "cheaper" O/U, you want to be "concerned" about POA... I like the O...

Re: Deer Shotgun
I lived/hunt in a shotgun-only area and was shooting a Mossberg 12 bolt action, 695 along with Litefield slugs which my hunting "buds" nick-named "black death"...but I now am shooting a Savage 220 with 3" rem accu-tips. It outshoots my old 12 hands down. It's a 200-yard gun ...

Re: The nwtf good old days
I joined a local chapter in 1983. They were accommodating with education because I knew nothing about wild turkeys or how to hunt them. The chapter I joined had more members than the state level. As years passed I noticed it was more about the "money" than the habitat projects. Other chapt...

Re: Savage 220 using Browning BXS Sabots
Using 3" Accutips because I like a little more "punch" and I believe the 3" pick up the lands faster. I tried a lot of sabots they shot the best in my 220. I love the gun. The only con I have is that blood trails are a little sparse. I would not be afraid to take a 250-yard shot ...
