Re: Remington 870 Express 20ga Barrel!!!
Sumtoy will cut it down and thread it for chokes. He did one for me last year. Was about 80 bucks if I remember correctly. He did an excellent job it looks like factory. The cost of a choke is extra. I think it’s a Mobil thread he does.

Re: 12ga shurshot to 20ga
I put one on a youth 870 20ga and did no sanding or fitting and it looks fine. Yea it sits a little high maybe a 32nd. Now I did sell the gun because I did not like the sureshot stock but it had nothing to do with fit.

I would hope so I have the constitutional exemption lol And God and ivermectin I know your motto .. "no vax, no fly, just drive" :stir: Does anyone who flys have to take the jab??? No, currently you do not need to be vaccinated to fly. If you come back from another country you need a clea...

Re: Camo paint.
I have done 4 guns with duracoat, no camo jobs just usually the receiver and barrel. Stocks where already camo. Holds up well …. If … you prep really good and you let it cure before you use it. It really needs 2 weeks at minimum to cure to full hardness. I always wait 3 weeks before any assembly or ...

Re: EGW vs Sumtoy Stevens 301 base
I have both on different guns but the EGW mounts are the same for several guns you pick the radius to match ur receiver. They both are about same height to me, you cannot go wrong with either and EGW has a discount code on here some place. Sumtoy does offer a protector version that is pretty sweet.

I second GAEP rollers. I have 2 others from the 2 popular reloading sites and neither of them can compare to a GAEP roller.

Re: Base For 870 20 Ga.
EGW has them, on the 870 the radius between the 20 and 12ga are the same.

In another thread they also list the mounts from EGW for FF3 that IMO a better option for red dots to get closer to the barrel.

Re: Mossberg 940 pro turkey
Just saw this gun. Only comes in 12 GA but looks good. Cool thing I saw is that it has a cut out spot on the receiver for a red dot. See how that works, would be nice if it did It just seems there is so much miss alignment between what turkey hunters really want and what gun manufactures are making...

Re: Turkey gun build
Built 4 different 870's almost exactly like yours. They make a perfect turkey gun and the Sure Shot stock is great for use with optics as it gets your eye up behind the optic while still maintaining a good cheek weld. Timney makes a really nice after market spring and sear kit that greatly improves...

My latest creation Here is what it looks like stock Screenshot 2022-01-17 161815.gif After I had the barrel shortened and re choked by SumToy. He also machined the stock sights off mostly, I did the rest with files and sand paper. Then I did the receiver and barrel in duracoat. Shoots like a dream a...

Nice looking gun! I built an 870 youth model just like the one you have that I found in a pawn shop for next to nothing. I had the Stock dipped and the receiver and barrel I used duracoat ... but I was never happy with the stock and I sold it to a buddy who loves it. So then I built a new one after...

Re: HELP Please!!!! Osceola hunting ??????????????????
I had a good time last year. Only heard one gobble and then a shot 5 minutes later a couple of locals that went about 600-700 yards further down the trial than I did, talked to them on the way out and it was a Jake they killed. Had a few Hens I called in but no Toms or Jakes to be honest I would hav...

Did you have to extend the attachment bolt to get the stock to work? Have a buddy who is trying to put a Ben Steady stock on one of these and he says the bolt will not reach.

The weight does not concern me so much, I feel like anything under 7 lbs loaded and I can carry it all day. I have a few Henry's and know for sure its a fine gun. If Henry would chop 4-6 inches off the barrel and maybe even D&T it would make me buy it now. If they put a synthetic stock on it, pi...

Re: Drill and Tap 870
The Mesa rail fits the round profile on the 20ga but you can see under it just a wee bit in the flat spot, I asked the gunsmith and he said it was not an issue, he said if it really bothered me I could put some neoprene gasket under the rail but he would leave the gap. RaspD thanks for the info, my ...
