Foxtrot 8s, 20 ga

I ordered some of these last year and never made it out goose hunting. Been focusing on quail until it closed. Finally went after geese yesterday with my m2 20ga, IM choke. These things are wicked! Best ammo I've shot at geese with. No cripples, stone dead. Can't recommend them enough. It's a joy to...

Re: Patience kills turkeys

Interesting to hear everyone's opinion.

For the real aggressive guys, are you hunting big woods?

Here in KS it's a lot of broken farmland and sometimes you can't make a move with being seen in the wide open

Meat grinder

What do you all recommend for a grinder?
Usually do 1 or 2 deer a year.

Local processing places are quitting doing it due to excess regulation. The few that do will mix everyone's deer together once a week

Re: Fall meat processing

That's unfortunate. Most fairs here are letting the kids come in and show their animals and leave. No carnival, midway, etc. At least here there will be a video auction for them to sell their projects.

Fall meat processing

I am sure everyone is gearing up for fall hunting seasons. As many of you know, our nation's large meat packers have been hit by Covid and there is a huge back log in processing cattle and hogs. In response, many people are buying meat on the hoof and getting appointments at their local butcher....t...

Re: Kansas DIY info

Is there a decent amount of WIHA land around Hutchinson?? That whole hutch salina Abilene area was pounded with a severe drought in 18 and horrible flooding last year. You used to drive down 70 and to Great Bend in the spring and see Rios everywhere. Not the case lately. Some outfitters around ther...

Re: Kansas DIY info

There is lots of really good public WIHA. Also note, if you hunt any state wildlife areas, you have to check in online.

If it has even drizzled DO NOT drive on a minimum maintenance road. Our soil is as greasy as it gets.

Hearing Protection

Any recommendations on hearing protection that allows you to still listen while hunting, like Walkers Game Ear?
