I am setting up a gun for my grandsons and would like to know what chokes you have found that work, what shells (tss) work (what weight loads, what powder, etc.) I am not looking for specific recipes but I would appreciate your advice about whose rec...

If you want to fool with decoys (not advocating for or against), go with DSDs. Buy once, cry once.

I have no idea on the maker, i would say it is definitely a hand made knife based on the file work. Contact AG Russell, if anyone would know the origin they would.

Re: 12 vs 20 - 16?
As Gil mentioned, you do not need 2 ounces of TSS in any gauge to kill turkeys at reasonable distances. I have carried a Beretta 391 youth model for the last nine years. I started with Federal Heavyweight 7s and shortly changed to a 1 5/8 ounce TSS handload with 9s. I can assure you that 1 5/8 ounce...

Good advice Gil, I was not clear on your description but I place the battery in the removable cap and then screw the unit together. I have never had a problem but I do use a wide screwdriver and ALWAYS use Duracell batteries.

Re: Verifying Red Dot Year to Year
I sight my gun in with TSS handloads and then shoot a high quality factory skeet load and save that target. To verify zero I shoot one of the same skeet shells and compare it to the target that I saved. If it is off I reestablish zero with the skeet loads and then shoot one TSS to assure that it is ...
