Re: 410 Tristar Advice

I have the same gun and run the 380..Will do 200 plus..the highest I have done was 218..A wise man once told me you gotta keep the 410s super clean and that’s what I do.Every time i fire a shot threw it the barrel comes off and gets scrubbed clean then swapped with alcohol..bore snake is a joke IMO...

Re: 410 Tristar Advice

How many oz load? I’ve only seen others patterns and not sure if they polished their barrels or not. But have seen 190-220 in the 10 with the 380 Indiancreek and my foxtrot 383 strokers 9.5’s. (7/8oz) My handloads are 7/8 oz 9.5s. I’d like improve my numbers closer to that 200 mark. Just don’t know...

Re: 410 Tristar Advice

Pattern sounds really good. If you don’t mind me asking, is there a hole in the pattern or are you looking for more consistent? Pattern does not appear to be “blown”. No obvious holes like it’s “over choked”. I would like it to be a little more consistent and I would also like to increase my number...

410 Tristar Advice

Need some advice on what I can do to improve my Tristar G2 patterns. I’m getting decent numbers but not as good as what I often see posted here. Also seems to be variable. I am running a dry bore snake between shots. Should I try a IC 385 or 390? Thanks Tristar Viper G2 410 7/8 oz handloads 9.5s IC#...

Re: Meat grinder

I was in the same situation as you with processors in my area and only needing one or two deer processed. I did a lot of checking on meat grinders. I really wanted a LEM but just couldn’t justify the cost based on my needs. I ended up getting a Turboforce International STX. The reviews are excellent...

I got a Sumtoy base for my Tristar 410 and then drilled another hole on my drill press. Works fine.

Re: Tristar Viper Turkey 410

Just got Viper Turkey 410 with 24” barrel what choke /shell combo has everyone had the best luck with? Here are some data from my gun. I’m wondering if I might be over choked. I’d like to try an IC 385 or 390. The CNC 385 was not very good for me. Tristar Viper G2 410 patterns 40 yd 10 inch counts ...

Re: turkey seat butt hurt

The Cabelas gobbler lounger will spoil you. Once you sit in it for a couple of hunts you won’t want anything else. That’s all I’ve used the last several years. I’ve got two. I don’t like the weight either but the comfort is worth it. I sat on a bird last year from 9 till 4 when I killed him. No way ...

Re: My Tri Star 410

I installed the Mcarbo spring that is listed for the mossberg sa 20..super super easy to do..Have not shot the gun but it did seem to help some. I never really had a problem with trigger pull weight on the gun but I figured for $12 why not. Also looking ahead it appears to me that a mossberg chargi...

Re: My Tri Star 410

Nice patterns and gun. That’s the best pattern I’ve seen from a 410.
Just curious if anybody has tried a 9x10 duplex load out of 410?

Re: Smoker recommendations

I had a Masterbuilt electric smoker for a couple of years and finally got rid of it. I could never get a good “bark” on my pork butts and it just didn’t make good pulled pork. My next smoker was a custom built stick burner. It produces amazing BBQ - pork butts, brisket, ribs. Does well with turkey b...
