Re: Gun case for traveling

I used a Pelican/Storm IM 3200 case to take my rifle to Tanzania in 2018. I flew from St. Louis to Atlanta to Amsterdam to Kilimanjaro and back again. The case took a beating but the gun didn't, nor did anything else I had packed in the case.

Re: That’s a wrap

Our hunting here has been going downhill since the early '80s. We have a bunch of problems, the last few years the weather has been terrible for poult survival, add to that nest predators in abundance and illegal hunting / methods and it's a wonder we have any birds to hunt at all.

Bird #2 hit the ground this morning about 7:50, haven't got the measurements but he's a little better than the first one! It feels really good to be back in the game.

Re: Longest dry streak ever comes to an end!

Thanks guys!

I have been turkey hunting since the early 70's and even during my military career I would nearly always manage to scratch down a bird or 2 unless I was deployed but even then my longest between birds was 2 years. It was really starting to get to me!

Longest dry streak ever comes to an end! (UPDATE)

The last turkey I killed was April 18th. 2016 and since then I have had a run of bad luck that is not to be believed, suffice to say that almost anything that can be imagined to screw up a turkey hunt has happened to me, I have had opportunities but something always happened, 30 yards is a long way ...

I got a part time gig as a gunsmith in a small local shop, but then I end up spending most of the money I earn buying more shooting stuff.

If looking at Gunbroker for reference make sure to look at the completed auctions under the advanced search feature. The guns that actually sold with multiple bids will give you a good indication of what folks are willing to pay.

I didn't step it off but it was just a few feet, close enough that it splattered blood on my gun.

My sincere condolences, something we never get over is the loss of a loved one, human or pet. We learn to live with the loss and usually come to terms but the feeling of loss is always there, at least in my case.

Re: 2020 a season to remember ~gun build, TSS shot trap, TSS hand loads, choke tests, hunts

Congrats! looks like a great season. How did the canvas work in the trap? It did great at 30-60, but I would never shoot 20 again....just too much for the canvas to take. No residue like the rubber mats, and way cheaper. 2 shots at 20 did way more damage than 20 shots at the other distances. I will...

I'll give them a call, 5 pounds would be great. I really hate having to return a brand new gun.
