Re: Avian Decoys Input
I'm betting my avian x decoys have seen more turkeys die than half the guys sticking there noses in the air to the avian x's. Nothing against dsd, they are great dekes, but worth what they cost? Idk. Those SX decoys look awesome too but $$$. So many good options for dekes now than compared to 12-15y...

Re: Avian Decoys Input
I've been using avian x decoys for quite a few years.... I have 2 hens and a Jake. One of the hens developed a leak around the stake hole like 5 years a go, 10 minute fix and it hasn't leaked since. I've put them through hell and back guiding for the last 6 years.... they have helped kill a LOT of t...

Well glad to hear it was an easy fix at least... Ive had the exact same problem with a "gunsmith" before. Didnt stop the bolt but made it a lot harder to cycle in my 870.

Re: Mossberg 930 Troubleshooting
My guess is it has something to do with the "rear shell stop assembly" # 15 in the parts diagram. I had a similar issue with my 935 the first year i got it. I had to send it in to mossberg and they fixed it under warranty. https://www.gunpartscorp.com/Pub/schematic/Mossberg_930,935_schem.jpg

Re: Mossberg 940 pro turkey
A really sharp looking gun! I see theres 2 models, 18.5" barrel and a 24" barrel. Pretty neat design with the red dot mount built into the receiver. Been wondering why no gun company has made new guns dipped in greenleaf, i dont have a degree in marketing but seems like any decent new turk...

Ive seen the new hornadys in the store.... ill look into reviews over the winter. I have my doubts that it's anything different than an full bore sst with a plastic base/sabot. Im a big fan of barnes in muzzleloader bullets personally. Ive used 250 gr expanders, TEZ, and just used my last TMZ yester...

Yea im not a fan of BCO. They dont know how to properly pattern a gun. Im no expert on it myself but you have to count 10" & 20" patterns and shoot more than once. Not to mention they are sponsored by patternmaster, and they really drink the PM koolaid in there videos. Your never going ...

I shoot the same gun with apex TSS loads. I have 2 trulock chokes, .610 ported and extra full .630 non ported. The .610 ported did 285 in the 10" with #9's and 244 with #8s. The extra full .630 put up 246 in the 10" with #9's and 185 with the #8's. Mind you thats just one shot each with c...

Honestly i got a trumpet 8 yrs ago and ended up selling it shortly after once i realized the learning curve required. But since then, multiple times a year i hear hens that sound just like a suction call. I got another trumpet last winter and practiced, practiced, and practiced some more. Used it wi...

Great find!! I knew they were only made for a few yrs and rare, but didn't know there were only 1,400 made. I was really thinking hard on that magpul stock for mine, I think you'll like it. Glad I scooped one up a few yrs ago. And yea they aren't exactly light weight, but it's still lighter than my ...

Im in the same boat, i picked up a nice lightly used 870 express 16 ga youth over the summer. I couldn't pass it up! "For my son to use when hes old enough" is the excuse i gave to the wife LOL. I plan on running apex tss in it. After talking to apex and trulock, i settled on there extra f...

Re: Jebs 20 gauge chokes
They seem to be gaining popularity in the 20 ga market. I've seen some great patterns with hw#7s this year with the .555 ported and .560 non ported. I was surprised when I saw them on call supply .com for 73$. As much as I hate to say it, they seem like a really good choke for over the counter ammo.
