I shoot a fixed-full .410 (not a Mossberg) and it does quite well. Others need to be choked down more. Every gun is different. Even guns of the same make/model. You just have to shoot it to find out.

Yes. My daughter shoots the mini Bantam .410 with 18.5 inch barrel modified and kills gobblers just fine. I have a 870 .410 with fixed full and it does too. It ain't rocket science.

A .410 is more finicky than most women!!! At least they don't cost a arm and a leg to shoot!!! This factor fixed full is ready to hunt on the first try!!!! I've had others and choked guns that took a lot of TLC to figure them out!!!

My Mossberg 500 410 with 26" fixed full did 162 in 10 @ 40 with hand loads. I see no reason to choke the gun any further. I have a 25" barreled gun I sent off to have threaded and choked, sure wish I had shot it first, because I am unable to get 160 or above with 2 different chokes and numerous loads. I am still playing with custom choked gun so we will see.

A 410 is awful for not shooting consistent numbers and the pattern wandering. Same gun same load I'v had numbers vary from 60-160. My 20 gauge is very consistent. So test multiple loads and each shell multiple times. One great shot on a paper with a 410 doesnt mean a thing.

I have also noticed some variation in numbers but not as significant as 60-160.

I have noticed variations of up to 30 pellets in a 10" @ 40.
