Old school camo remingtons
I’ve noticed that the Old Remingtons kick everyone was on has slowly came to an end for now.. hopefully the prices on them drop also! That being said I’m still in search of a Greenleaf or original bottomland 1187-870s

Re: Old school camo remingtons
The ones I’ve seen at gun shows the finish didn’t seem to hold up well. Or maybe we used to much deet back then!

Re: Old school camo remingtons
I bought a Greenleaf 870 with some paint chipped for 500 wish I could find some more in that price range without a whole bunch of finish gone! Some of these prices I see they are brining in is ridiculous!

Re: Old school camo remingtons
I heard the greenleaf and/or treebark hydro film was going to be available soon. If so, that will really take the wind out of the fad since everyone will be able to dip theirs for > $200.

Mossy oak is already offering a Greenleaf hydrodip but in my opinion it is not even comparable to the actual Greenleaf finish they once done at Remington.

Sounds purty. Does that gal in NC offer matching purses?

I don’t get it. I like Remington turkey guns but can’t fathom why they are a grand because of the camo

I can’t wrap my mind around it either. I have a few of them but just can’t grasp the thought of spending a grand on one

Re: Old school camo remingtons
I own an original Green Leaf 11-87 that I bought brand new in the early 90's and I own a new one with 28" barrel. There is no comparison in quality but I don't think that the old ones are worth some of the prices I have seen them go for. BUT in saying that, I would not sell mine for any amount, way to many memories!

There are still plenty of guys out there who are willing to pay $$$ for them. I own a “few” myself. I have never paid crazy money for any I have bought and know of several out there that can be had for decent prices.

I don’t get the obsession with the camo or the guns. It actually looks fugly to me..
May I assume you're not here to inquire about the alcohol or the tobacco?

Re: Old school camo remingtons
Good lord I refuse to pay that much no matter how much I wanna finish my collection
Re: Old school camo remingtons
I bought the whole collection over a multi-year timeframe before this movement became extremely popular. I can promise you that the camo is infinitely better in quality and color than any aftermarket original pattern dip that I've seen, but I understand those that can't justify the price of today's market value on the OG guns. For me, it was a part of owning turkey hunting history that allured me into the purchases. A rare opportunity to own the first generation of turkey guns and being able to physically hold and display the evolution into the guns we carry today. I know a lot of hunters are buying because it's trendy, but I think there are many who bought them for similar reasons as I did 10 years ago.
Re: Old school camo remingtons
There is still a huge demand for the Old School Remingtons ! IMO the reason for the high value is not only the great camo pattern its the quality of the guns. I think they are built like a tank & therefore they last alot longer than the cheap Remingtons of today. If you can find good deals on them by all means buy them . They are Awesome Guns !

Hi everyone. I’m new to the site. I just bought this today. I’ve never saw another. I was on my way to buy an 11-87 and saw this and bought immediately.
Re: Old school camo remingtons
Nice one. See the 1300 dipped in that pattern regularly. One of the best patterns in my opinion, especially in the fall.

Congrats on the find. I like mine. Its been hell on toms since I started using it. I've not hunted with it the last few years after making improvements to my old 870 turkey special.
