Quick Oklahoma Hunt

Post by Clark8907 »

I went up yesterday PM to Oklahoma and killed two birds this am by 745. One of these Rios were whiter than most merriams being killed. Set up about 150 yes from where they were roosted in a big wheat field. That pitched down to opposite end of field with a couple hens but couldnt see the DSD strutting Jake. Finally got a hen to break loose and head my way. After she did that birds got to where they could see decoys and came in on a string. Then it was th ol bang flop bang flop show.

Congrats. I believe OK claims to have a small pocket of Merriam's in the far northwest corner.

Fine looking birds, can't wait til I am able to get out there to visit family and do some hunting around Kingfisher and Grady counties.

Awesome birds! I'm sitting here holding my head. Just got back from there and had a mature Rio inside 40 and I missed him. Weather boogered the rest of the time there as the birds didn't respond after the Saturday rain.

Congrats!
