I hunt w/ a good friend/cousin that has a plethora of turkey calls, if you ask him at anytime what's the best, most consistent, turkey killingest call he has in his vest... he'll pull out his faulks crow call

I'll say this, Bc I know I'm not the only one on this forum that's done it! But If you've never used a faulks, don't be dumb like me mouth that thing like you do other crow calls... that reed cut on the inside of your lip will make a paper cut on your finger feel good!

Besides a faulks, if you can find an old wood Lohmans 104 its one the best I've personally ever heard.

My favorite is made by Daryl Gibson. I have three of his crow calls. My most favorite is a Old Oak Fat Boy Crow Call I got from him back in the early 90’s. I have located many birds with that crow call.

I’ve stopped carrying one. I can’t ever remember getting a turkey to gobble at one. Surely I can’t be the only one.

If you are actually trying to kill crows, FoxPro makes the best call.

Back some years ago we were building a wooden tree stand in the spring on a massive old pecan tree in a creek bottom. Hammering away we hear gobbles. We stop then hammer some more, more gobbles closer coming in. Next we see two heads out about 40 yards in some grass. Two jakes stepped out in the open checking out who was making all the racket! Chainsaw didn't seem to spook them either! So guess you could try a damn hammer to locate the gobblers, cheaper than a custom call!

My Gibson is my favorite by far.
“What gets us jangly is the suddenness of everything. We hunt turkeys because we want to hear them gobble, watch them strut and all that, and we hunt them with shotguns because we want to be close to them when those things occur." - Jim Spencer

Daryl Gibson is my favorite. I have his old style caller that is Oak Fat Boy. Plus I have two of his newer crow calls. Gibson are the most realistic crow calls I own. I have one Michael Buckner crow calls and it is a close second.

Gibson

I bought a Gibson many years ago. It sounded so good (realistic) that I’ll never buy another crow call.

When my buddies hunt with me and hit that Gibson, they go “Damn, where’d you get that? That thing sounds great. “
