Turkey Hunt Outfitter in Delaware or Rhode Island?

Post by Magdump »

Howdy folks, I am new here, thanks for having me!

I just got serious into turkey hunting a season or two ago and now I am fully addicted! The goal is to bag a longbeard in every state if possible. Will be a fun project to keep me busy for the next couple decades!

I am still a novice when it comes to turkeys so I still like to go out with experts whenever possible so that I can learn from them. All that being said, finding an outfitter to take me out in Delaware has proven very very difficult. Same with Rhode Island. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks for your help with this!

Still beating my head against the wall trying to check off these two tiny states. Thought i had RI solved but just found out that access to the farm in question fell through. Back to square one. Would very much appreciate any leads you can provide on private land options!

Man those are two weird states to start, I know it's prolly proximity.

We have two members here that have US slams covehunter and hookspur. As like any turkey hunter they may keep secrets close but may point you into areas to look up. If they don't give you info and being. new dont judge them great people, but turkey hunters.

Thanks guys! I REALLY appreciate the help! Indeed, it is proximity as I live in MD so I would like to cross off the states closest to me first when possible.

Forgot to update! Sorry! Better late than never!

Bottom line, i still Really really need help with a place to go in Delaware (please boys, any leads GREATLY appreciated!!) but thanks to Captain Jack, Rhode Island is checked off!!

What a great guy and we had a ball running and gunning. I hired a video guy (Rob, a friend of the Cap’n) for day #2 (Rob was booked on opening day) and we got some great video! Rob was also awesome!

If you need Rhode Island for your Super Slam attempt, Cap’n Jack is the man!

Here are the two birds, opening day and the next day:

Delaware remains a tough nut to crack. And help pointing me to an outfitter or available private land in DE is greatly appreciated!

For DE try Chris Sherman, Barneck Outfitters. He is based on the shore in MD and does hunts in DE. I know he has access to some good properties. (443) 786-6073.

Great example of hunters helping hunters, good idea to start off with some states with difficult access, by the time you get to the easy ones you should be competent enough to go DIY if you choose!

Good luck, I have been considering the slam, I have killed birds in 7 states, possibly 8 if you count a tom I called out of Kansas into Nebraska, arrowed him and he ran back into to kansas!
