Cutting and Rethreading a Barrel
Anybody know if you can have a Browing barrel cut down and rethreaded for Invector Plus chokes? I know it can be cut but wasn't sure if rethreading for Invector Plus choke would be feasible. This is a Maxus that currently accepts Invector Plus chokes but I'd like it more in the 22-23" range.

Does the Maxus barrel resemble a Benelli and taper outward near the end?

I don’t see why not since the barrel is back bored to .742.
Best thing to do is call William Lambert (SumToy) or another reputable shotgun smith and they can answer the question for sure.
I’d love to have a 22” Maxus!

It all depends on the thickness of the barrel that is left where you cut it off. Yep, talk to a good gunsmith.

Briley is your answer for Invector Plus threading.
Yes, Briley cost a bit more but it will be installed correctly and threaded in line with the centerline of the bore.

If you get a price from Briley please post it as I am curious about this. Thanks
Re: Cutting and Rethreading a Barrel
Contact Mike Orlen. He has done a couple barrels for me and only charges about $75 for a barrel. If there is enough metal left where cut, he can do an invector plus, however, if there is not, he can still do tru choke thin walled chokes which you can buy from most choke makers. Most of what briley does is also the tru choke thin walled chokes.
Here is al ink to his contact info. I think his prices have gone up a little from this page.
