Will Trumps tariffs on metals affect tungsten prices?

Re: Tungsten prices
The tarriffs themselves are just on steel and aluminum as I understand, but the fallout could affect a lot of imports I suspect.

I just wish someone around here would import some blame Lil Gun.

Re: Tungsten prices
Pricing for tungsten went up a little due to how they had to start mining it..
usually tariffs last for a short time period and then work themselves out and things calm down.
more worried about the crap this new gun legislation the government is wanting to vote on

Re: Tungsten prices
If you want to get technical, I could just order it. I'm kinda stocked up on every powder I use though, so I'd have to pay hazmat for a single bottle of powder. Heckwiththat. Some will turn up before I run out of Heavyweight shells.

I paid 29.99 locally for lil gun..bullethead wrote: ↑March 5th, 2018, 10:21 am Midway was running free Hazmat. Not sure if it is still on.
at 23.99 and free hazmat isn't bad if you can't find it local
Re: Tungsten prices
Thanks for the tip. They're doing free hazmat if you order 6000 CCI primers, but its only for those primers. You still get to pay hazmat for the powder. They're out of the 1# bottles.
However, I did find that Grafs is doing $10 hazmat with four pounds of powder. I might do that if I can come up with three other pounds I want for something. I guess I could do all in Lil Gun and flip it. Not really my thing though.
Thanks.

Re: Tungsten prices
I paid $16 Hazmat to Precision for Alliant Unobtanium powder. Far cheaper than my driving to SoDak and bak. Gil

Re: Tungsten prices
Tungsten is a considered a "minor metal commodity."
While many factors influence its price, the primary factor is supply/deman. That said, the World Trade Organization (WTO) can also directly influence pricing (primarily due to trade restrictions placed on the country of China).

Re: Tungsten prices
I was told from my source that the price has increased because of "rising raw material".

Re: Tungsten prices
At $32/kg for raw material, Tungsten went up by about 20% in quarter 4 of last year from $26/kg. It is about 30% higher than its lowest point in the last 5 years at $21/kg. The places that supplies shot is up about 15% in price from this time last year. Should have bought more shot last year at this time.taylorjones20 wrote: ↑March 9th, 2018, 8:59 am I was told from my source that the price has increased because of "rising raw material".
