Jump rope

Post by Hoobilly »

a while back, PreacherRitchie said he was back to using his jump rope for cardio

I finally got around to it and bought a cheap Golds Gym rope from Walmart..

I haven't jumped rope in 25 years easy

yeah it shows

but man it sure don't take long to get the heart rate up. Gonna help out in the long run I reckon and help me be ready for the long mountain walks when I get back down to Kentucky.

anyone else jump rope?

Surprise, surprise, surprise,... Just found out I can run again, fairly fast and decent too. I was bubbling over, cause I was a runner my whole life.

Then I woke up, and realized it was a dream!!! CRAP!!!

telling someone to jump rope is fighting words where I come from. Also, I had no idea there was a fitness section on here.

I jump rope a little bit. My workout has me super-setting with weights and then in between sets you are supposed to do a minute of cardio. I run in place, jump rope, kettle bell swings, planks and whatever else I can think of. It's a killer....

When I was on the fire department we put some weights and a tread mill in the firehouse to work out on our lunch hour. You had to ask the house captain for permission to work out though. Some captains were real pricks. At this one house I would ask one of the other guys if he wanted to work out and he would say sure. Then we would ask the captain and he would give me a yes but tell the other guy no ! i thought he was just a prick and didn't like him. Well at the end of the year I got shipped out to another fire house and before I left the captain said to me you know that when you got stationed here your bud came to me at the beginning of the year and said no matter what please don't give me permission to work out !!! I found out that that year previous he had decided that sleeping on his lunch was better than getting all sweaty !

I would lose on the pull ups, but no way on the push ups. Just bring it old man and lets give it a shot. If nothing else you will beat my azz and we will sweat a little then hit the pizza joint across the street for a ex-large pie and a pitcher of beer :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

I believe that a man can burn a fair amount of calories by the act of eating pizza and drinking beer.
I got “tennis elbow” from drinking beer when I was younger. (My diagnosis)
I know it wasn’t from playing tennis!!
