Opening morning
Well today was the opener to missouri fall shotgun season. Took the girlfriend and birds flew down from roost and harassed by 2 yearling deer. Was funny watching them get ran around till the deer made them go the wrong way. The birds only got to 65 yds so we pulled out of roost location and left them be hoping they will return to same roost. Hopefully they don't get harassed this evening so they provide a good shot for the girlfriend to shoot them.

Re: Opening morning
Good luck all. Ours is coming up oct 28th. I’m ready been seeing some gobs and hens. I won’t pass on the gobs but I sure like to save them for spring. I’d like to see some hens though.

Re: Opening morning
For those of you whose fall season is in, how are the birds acting? Are they talkative or tight lipped? Elusive or in previous season spots?

Re: Opening morning
Thanks, I'm not seeing a lot of acorns falling like I have in the past here. Not sure what is happening in western MD were I'll be hunting though. Guessing that it will be close to what you are experiencing though. Are they reacting to calls any?hookedspur wrote: ↑October 15th, 2017, 11:30 amWhere I'm at they are scattered, seems to be a lot of food for them ,kinda hard to pattern.

Re: Opening morning
Around me there not bunched up much. Gobblers are running in their own pack and hens and poults seem to be in groups of 3-12 per group. They are not talking much but have called numerous up the last 2 weeks.
