I have been at it since the start of October, in the stand of course with the xbow. Last Wednesday I saw a group of hens and one gobbler but they never came closer than 53 yards and were behind some brush. They putted for at least an hour and of course I forgot my calls so I just had to sit and wait. The gobbler was sticking his head up above the brush in a taunting manner . If the same thing repeats itself it may be a different story with the shotgun come Saturday and calls in my pack. We also planted some chufa this year so looking forward to turning those over soon.
