Struck out

Post by chatterbox »

Hey guys,

Struck out this season. I didn't get to hunt near as much as I wanted, and when I did get out, I never heard a thing.
I saw one bearded hen all season, but I will not shoot them or jakes.
Congrats to everyone who had success!

Sorry to hear that, I almost did too because of 4 misses but then connected with 5 days of season left.

I don't see it that way Chatterbox. You got a front row pew in God's church of the outdoors in one of the prettiest month's NH has to offer.

To me you are a winner for the effort you put forth in the name of our team.

My contest days are over here at GN. Too many requirements to "prove" you shot a turkey. Maybe a good requirement if cash were the prize but just for bragging rights it is not worth the effort of proof.

I'm happy I got to help our team even in default.

I'd like to thank K9Doc for all the work he put in tallying the scores.

Grumpy, four misses in a row? Next year you get one shell. Make it count!

We've all been there grumpy, and NO it ain't fun! The 1st miss isn't so bad but after the 5th one in a row it's almost comical! Glad you were able to shake it off.

Better luck next season chatterbox, at least you got the chance to get out, I'm sure there were a few that didn't even get that opportunity, there's always a positive in a negative!

I've had a terrible time as my eyesight got weaker with age. I switched to a NEF Pardner from my 870. The NEF has one front sight that I continually looked over as I pulled the trigger. Miss a few gobbler chip shots.

Had been watching BIL rolling birds over with his Encore. So I made the switch and put a red dot scope on it duplicating his setup. Best turkey hunting decision I have made of late.

Put the red dot just below his red head and pull the trigger. My success rate has increased dramatically.

I feel the pain!
