Re: Turkey Contest
I always up for a GN turkey contest, might not contribute to my team but I will always be out there trying
Re: Turkey Contest
I am only allowed to get one here in my area in Montana so that doesn't make much of a good deal for me to be in a contest, I guess.

Yeah, I tried to stir up a little chatter a week or more ago on the contest thread and had no takers. ...A bit surprised at the apparent lack of interest in it. Maybe some of the members just need a bit more prodding.....
Re: Turkey Contest
I'll play, may not be a banner year for me with starting a new job and all.

With Shooter on the mend, this might be the year to dethrone the Meatpackers!

Re: Turkey Contest
No credit for extra beards if they have them. 50" of beard and you get credit for 10", but spurs get extra credit. A 1/2" jake spur gets extra credit and is scored as 5". So two 1/2" spurs score more than 50" of beard Plus the scales, cameras, tape measures etc. Nah, I'm out again!

Hey, those rules sound perfect for me,...especially all the bonus points for jakes stuff. I'm good as long as we keep the supplemental points assistance program in place... Now all we need is some "bonus points for old folks" and I'm covered.guesswho wrote:No credit for extra beards if they have them. 50" of beard and you get credit for 10", but spurs get extra credit. Re: Turkey Contest
At the end of the contest they could just tell you that you won. At your age and mindset you'd never know the difference.

Works for me.....
Re: Turkey Contest
If shooter was 100%, I'd say put Shooter on a team by himself. Then only 1 or 2 teams would have a chance.

Re: Turkey Contest
Combined beard length and with the NWTF giving you X2 you get X5 here because it is so rare.ole5beards wrote:So in this contest if I kill a multibeard only the main beard counts?

Re: Turkey Contest
HUH? I know how to score a bird by NWTF regs. Why do yall multiply the beard by 5?ICDEDTURKES wrote:Combined beard length and with the NWTF giving you X2 you get X5 here because it is so rare.ole5beards wrote:So in this contest if I kill a multibeard only the main beard counts?

Re: Turkey Contest
Don't listen to all the non players. They are just to get people going. we always allow multi beards. I mean how many more could there possibly be out there. The meat heads and Ronnie have killed most of them.ole5beards wrote:HUH? I know how to score a bird by NWTF regs. Re: Turkey Contest
Just for multi bearded birds, because they are rare, single bearded birds 2x multi beard 5x.. The NWTF by no means gives proper justice to such a trophy specimen.ole5beards wrote:HUH? Re: Turkey Contest
You just gotta find a new spot with multiple beards ! I have killed 3 in the last two years in Texas and figure to hopefully get a few more this year ! Seen a monster last year the last day with a huge wide beard gotta be at least a triple! Just figures though since I no longer have much interest in the contests.
