Headed out in the morning!
Hey guys!
Finally gonna get out and try to get on a bird for the NH opener. Our birds took it on the chin this past winter, but I will give it my best!!!!

Re: Headed out in the morning!
I haven't heard a thing. I might be done for the year, being the mushroom hunters have driven the birds out of public, and that is all I have to hunt as of right now. Along with that my knees are shot, with the arthritis.

I am done also, I think I can hear the fat lady warming up her voice!
Re: Headed out in the morning!
Well, looks like one more shot tomorrow at my Iowa bird at Private for a change. Good thing is I am going with my grandson, who can help me if my knees totally give out. This 40 degree, wet weather is killing my arthritis. Tomorrow is going to have a low of 36 degrees. Down in Texas my knees Don't hurt at all.

Good luck on your last go at it.
You may be having to move down south before it's over!!!

If this weather continues as a new pattern, living in Texas 6 months a year sounds real good, if we could swing it financially.Shooter wrote:Good luck on your last go at it.

I am done. One bird only in NH. He won't be big enough to enter, but I was sure happy with him!
Re: Headed out in the morning!
If I understand the rules correctly, you must enter your bird. We cannot replace a bird you kill with someone else's bird in the team score. Glad to see that you got a nice gobbler!chatterbox wrote:I am done. One bird only in NH. He won't be big enough to enter, but I was sure happy with him!
Re: Headed out in the morning!
That is correct. Even with the two 100 scorers we still might not be able to swing first with all the 50+ birds we ended up scoring. Last time I put up 2 50's in a contest was when I put 2 down in Florida, but then bumped both of them with high scorers when I hit Kansas. This year I was lucky to shoot any with the fires in Kansas and hitting the shroomers pounding the Public in Iowa.GobbleNut wrote:If I understand the rules correctly, you must enter your bird. Re: Headed out in the morning!
Thanks Jim! I feel fortunate to have gotten my tag punched the last 2 seasons! It's just really hard to get one here that scores much over 55.GobbleNut wrote:If I understand the rules correctly, you must enter your bird.
