Make one your self take a wine stopper drill a 3/16 hole through it put a piece of 1/4" rod in a drill slide it on and a piece of course sand paper only take a min. and you can shape it any way you want.

thats a great idea
I will have find me some cork!
Re: Trumpet lip stops
You can buy a box of hard rubber faucet washers at Home Depot for a couple of bucks. Not as long as rubber stoppers, but pre-drilled and work (and look) just fine as lip stops. Gil
Re: Trumpet lip stops
Gill you can get wine stoppers predrilled on ebay. Find a small enough metal rod and chuck it up in a drill. Get some 80 grit sand paper and roll it up in a ball about as big around as a dime. Use that to shape your stop. Then use smaller grit like 200 and 400 to finish sand. Then with heavy rag and carnuba wax grip rubber while still turning. This will polish it
Re: Trumpet lip stops
Being a newbie here, so please pardon my ignorance, what call does a trumpet replace? Mouth call or slate pot to finish? Or a box call or glass pot for longer range calling?
Re: Trumpet lip stops
If you learn to play a trumpet you don't need any other call.

Re: Trumpet lip stops
It can replace all
Or use in conjunction with others
One thing about a trumpet is that they can cut the wind without being super aggressive on the calling

"
There are 2 episodes on "Turkey Call TV", one with Rev. Zach Farmer and the other with Mark Prudhomme both using a only a trumpet to call turkeys to the gun.
