Wiznut, i didnt take it that way. I just saw the post going sideways.

Your about gloves. Try Macks prairie wings. They make a pair of light camo fleece gloves for running duck calls. Palms and finger tips are open, but tops are camoed. Excellent for trumpets. If your running one handed, your skin is facing down, and two handed the two top parts of your hands are facing gobbler.

Any kind of turkey call is a liability to lots of hunters...that's why tents and strutting decoys are so popular.
As for the gloves with a trumpet, I don't wear any gloves. I just use burnt cork or charcoal to "mark up" the back of my hands.

Ive said that since the first time I ran one in the woods there is a certain "tone" in a hens yelp that is really difficult to duplicate and the reason somebody with a good ear for turkey is rarely fooled by even a good caller running other devices..

Those yelps you describe is IMO what the trumpet does best, that little clear to clear two note yelp.. IME hens even when cranked up do a lot of that clear to clear yelp.. I hear much more clearer yelping in the woods than the heavy rasp that is so heavily marketed to today's hunter.

I prefer calls without a lot of rasp.

Great job Del. I've been asked several times to do an instructional video. One of these days I'm going to sit down and put something together. You did good.

Never heard anybody sound so good on a horn...I use the old wingbone for long distance locating...
Now you got me wanting a horn. You got those things dialed in. Good job.

Hey Del
Ga. should only let you use Duct tape, Bailing twine and Rubber hose for turkey calling.
Oh hell, never mind you would make that sound good!
Love the stuff you and Billy put out.
