VENISON FAJITAS

Post by HunterGKS »

I have always liked fajitas so decided that today would be a good day to make a batch using venison from the doe I got this year.

VENISON FAJITAS

INGREDIENTS

2 tablespoons oil, divided
1 package 1.12 ounce McCormick Fajita Mix
1 lb lean boneless venison, slightly frozen, cut into thin strips
1 onion, thinly sliced
1 bell pepper, cut into strips
¼ cup cold water
8 Flour tortillas for burritos, heated

ASSORTED TOPPINGS

Shredded cheese
Salsa
Sour Cream
Guacamole
Chopped tomatoes

Directions
1. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil; in a large skillet on medium heat.
2. Add the venison & stir for 3 minutes or until no longer pink.
3. Remove meat from the skillet & heat the remaining oil.
4. Add onion & pepper cooking & stirring for 3-5 minutes.
5. Add the venison.
6. Stir in the water & Seasoning mix.
7. Cook & stir for 3 minutes or until the meat is cooked through.
8. Spoon into the tortillas, add toppings of choice & enjoy.

I didn’t have any salsa so I substituted Picante sauce.

Went to the grocery yesterday and got all the goodies. Looks like a big step up from the normal tacos.

Awesome looking eats.

Another incentive for me to get my butt in gear and get some meat in the freezer.

Love Em! Make my own marinade and we have even scrambled eggs and put them in the left over fajitas for breakfast.
Love your posts George, always gets me thinking. Not how to improve it, just gets me thinking how hungry I am.

Thx. Photography has been 1 of my favorite things to do for probably 60 years so it's really not work.
