Re: BENELLI STEADY GRIP STOCK WORK
I had a black one I removed the sling buckle from and used JB Weld from Lowe’s. It is tough stuff and dries a dark grey/black. I used tape to seal up the stock where the buckle was (you are going to fill it up and hide the tape anyway). The JB Weld is thicker in consistency when you mix the hardener with it and dries pretty quickly. Rough up the area just a little, and I used a few toothpicks to get the epoxy into the slot where the buckle was to protrude some into the opposite side of the stock. Once one side was filled with the JB, I put a piece of tape with a light coat of Vaseline (or other release agent) over it and turned the stock over to do the opposite side the same way before the epoxy fully set up so I could get some into the buckle area to bond to the little bit I had pushed thru with the toothpicks. Tape over this side with a film of release agent like the other and let er set up. Lightly sand with 600 grit sandpaper and some steel wool to even it out with the stock when it sets.

So, you did not use the sling buckle?

Re: BENELLI STEADY GRIP STOCK WORK
No. I put a stud in the bottom where they normally go. It’s been a while, but as I recall, there is a thicker section of that stock you can drill. I think I did use the JB to epoxy it in as well tho….you can see when you remove the recoil pad. If you want to use the buckle, it should be pretty easy to epoxy around it and sand flush…
Re: BENELLI STEADY GRIP STOCK WORK
[img] I did pretty much the same, but I used an epoxy putty. It's a 2 part epoxy that has 1part in the middle of the tube and the other part on the outside of the tube. To use you cut off a section and knead it together, then fill the void.
Re: BENELLI STEADY GRIP STOCK WORK
Looks great. I filled all that in flush with the rest of the stock. The way you did it would have worked just as well….
Re: BENELLI STEADY GRIP STOCK WORK-FINALLY GOT HER DONE
Finally got her done!!! Started off by securing the sling plate in the stock with a bolt, then used Gorilla epoxy stick putty to lock it into place and fill the two holes in each side of the stock.
Then roughed up the surface with a razor knife and used JB Weld plastic bonder and epoxied the rest of the opening to this finished product.

Looks good
Nothing better than doing some gunwork by yourself and it coming out looking gooder than factory

I chickened out and want to thank KyKRAZEE for his generous offer
Gonna' and have, ground down the sling holder and painted it camo green, put fiberglass in the back bottom of the stock and have parts ordered for the rest.
Way to much bother for cosmetic purposes
Even though at times, I am a perfectionist
