Break Action Hydrodipping

Post by FalconIII »

Question for the break action guys. I’m getting an O/U dipped in MO Bottomland and have heard some reports that it doesn’t hold up and wears down with a break action shotgun. Anything to that? Would love to hear from anyone in the break action crew that has had their gun dipped in this regard. Thank you!

I don't think I have seen any that looked bad or others talking about that issue

Agreed, not an issue I have ever heard of. Factory dips last on break action, that I can verify. Never seen or heard of aftermarket dips not holding up.

Factory dip on this gun is probably 25 years old. Its been hunted hard too. No issues.

I got my o/u dipped by a guy in north ms. He did an overall bad job. It started chipping off around break open. I got it redone and had action and barrels cerakoted. But like I said, it was bad from get go

Oh I have seen bad dips come apart before. I guess I should have said I have never seen a good/quality dip job hold up on a break action and differently than on a pump or semi auto.
