Shortening a stock?

Might be a dumb question but does anyone know if its possible to shorten a steady grip stock

I did. Had to make a insert and pop riveted in place for a butt pad to screw into place.

Unfortunately it was stolen 8 years ago with 5 other guns or I would be able to show you pictures of what I had done.

Yeah it really sucked. Not so much both Benellis was stolen, my Ithaca 20ga and 870 12ga was. Both of those hurt.
