Browning gold or maxus
Browning gold or maxus
Anyone know of a place to get a pistol grip stock. Even someone who would custom make. Seems like not much for browning stocks.

Not that I’ve seen.
I shoot the Maxus and just use the regular stock.
Not a lot of aftermarket support on Browning.

Re: Browning gold or maxus
Browning needs to make a pistol grip stock version
Sister company Winchester did
They would easily compete against Benelli

Sure seems if you don't own a mossberg or Remington, maybe a benelli, your out of luck for many after market parts of any kind except chokes.

If I was a betting man, I would think that the Fabrique Nationale (FN) SLP shotgun's pistol grip stock fits the Winchester SX2/SX3 and possibly the Browning Gold and Silver shotguns (12 gauge). No guarantees but might be worth a "$155 Attempt."

that would be very cool
Re: Browning gold or maxus
Compared the gold and maxus, as I have both. The gold does fit an sx3 and is the same as the slp. Should fit a gold with little trouble. On the maxus the trigger unit has a wider rear locator behind the trigger gaurd and the reciever end is slightly curved. The gold is straight. All other measurements seem close. I'm going to try to refit one. Have to get one ordered. I'll let you know if it'll work.

Re: Browning gold or maxus
The FN tactical stock was high quality. 3 butt plates and 3 comb inserts with screws. It would fit the gold or sx without much work. The maxus has a wider trigger tang and a curved face. The stock is set for the flat gold receiver. It took about me about 2 hours to adjust the stock for the curve and wider trigger assembly plus you have to inlet a little for the tube. Its slitely larger diameter. Used a dremel and file. Fairly easy just take you time. The stock bolt fit fine also. Worked great. Not the best camo job but, by the time a gobbler notices it won't matter for him. Thanks for the help.

How are you liking the new stock
Re: Browning gold or maxus
Happy so far, much easier on my old wrist. Biggest plus is the extra drop at heel. Puts your eyes in line with the red dot much faster.

Is the lop the same as the factory or longer
Re: Browning gold or maxus
Adjustable. It has 3 different butt plates one each way of standard. Also 3 comb inserts. The one in the photo is the high one. The butt plate in the photo is the short one.

Re: Browning gold or maxus
the length of pull on the factory stock was always a little long for me do you think the shortest setting would be shorter then the factory stock. (think the factory lop is 14 1/4?)

Stock looks factory
Good job on the retrofit

I always cut off a 1/2 to 3/4 on a shotgun. The shorter butt plate was in 13 1/2 range. Fit was perfect for me.
