Pulling down at shot

Post by howl »

My guns this year were showing the patterns going low and right. I was thinking that 1 5/8oz/.375 Wby I've been shooting had me flinching. I verified I was not. So what am I doing?

I got to thinking how about a month ago I was having real trouble with right to left crossing clays. I was shooting low and right unless I let it get ahead on me and had to catch up real fast; gun momentum was greater than me pulling. The thing is that gun does not kick to notice. It's a Beretta gas gun with the lightest commercial loads available. Maybe my brain is trying to keep the sight picture the same. This isn't a big movement. It's just a tightening of the hand. The gun still appears to recoil normally.

Anyhow, if you wrong-handed people see your patterns going low and left, trying shooting with an open hand on the forearm or no hand on the forearm. For the right-brained, the pattern goes low and right.

That's what I think anyhow.
