Any downside to shooting a short shell in a long chamber? In a shotgun, mind you
How about a 2-3/4” TSS load out of a 3-1/2” chambered 12 ga? With some of the relatively slow-burning powders used in hand loads, might it have implications for wad seal and performance? Other considerations???
Any Downside to...

I think I asked a similar question to Hal and was told no. I’m shooting 2 3/4” (actually shorter) in 3 1/2” chambers.

Not an issue. My clays gun is a 3.5" chambered Beretta 686. I have shot literally 10s of 1000s of 2.75" lead shells through it and quite a few 2.75" TSS loads as well. Chronograph all my turkey loads, and they are quite consistent from the 3.5" chambers. If wads weren't sealing well, it would show up on the chronograph. And think of all the 20 ga shooters shooting 2.75" TSS shells through their 3" chambered guns.

It is almost like lengthening the forcing cone in it with recoil.
