Opinions on Nikon turkey pro scope

Post by Fl strutter »

Just bought 1 for $200 shipped with the camo Nikon mounts. Is the scope as good as I've heard? The guy said he only took it hunting maybe 5 times and has been sitting in his safe for 5 years. I hope I'll like it.

Good scope, had two of them. They work well and have great eye relief.
Magnification range is 1.65 to 5. Objective is 36mm, and it came with an anti reflective device.

Sweet turkey hunting scope, just a little heavy. Other than that, can't be beat for a scope for turkey hunting.......good choice

How easy is it to sight in just having the circle without cross hairs?

Very easy,
Here is what I done.....get you a big 3 foot x 3 foot piece of cardboard or rosin paper for a target. Stick a self adhesive 3 inch circle on the target for your aiming point.

Look through the scope and adjust the power to where the circle in the reticle outlines that 3 inch circle on its perimeter, then you are centered. Sight in as normal......then when a turkey comes in, put the circle on his head to his waffles, and boom

Hope that makes sense

I have been using Nikon's Turkey Pro since the day it came out. Even after it was discontinued for diminishing sales I kept mine on my Benelli Nova. So far I have gone 4 for 4 with it including the nice Eastern Tom. I have freinds who love the 1.65-5 magnification for a hog scope with buckshot, but for me having it on my turley gun works great. Very clear and the quick focus eye piece works great for my older eyes. I say mount it up and have fun with it. Hopefully you can take a bird and post some pics. I was just talking to a guy in MO this afternoon who would love to see it return.

I figured if I didn't grab it fast I wouldn't get another deal on 1. Seems they are hard to come by but highly sought after.
