When you polish a gun and
Patterns go down instead of up. What do you do?

Keep shooting it. Mine likes a dirty barrel. It gets real good about 6th round.

Mine does the same thing. I run about 10 dove loads through it and bore snake it a couple of times and it's usually back to normal

Re: When you polish a gun and
I'm interested in polishing my 835 before next spring.
Is it common for patterns to be worse than before polishing?

William at Sumtoy once told me if I recall correctly that "deep cleaning" can worsen things with some guns. The more the gun is shot the better the choke works. Clean between shots with an alcohol swab or bore snake.
Re: When you polish a gun and
I run a denatured swab between shots. It's always done fine.
After polishing patterns blow out after first shot with cold barrel. I'm gonna try some more dirty and see what happens.

My M2 shoots lots better with a dirty barrel. I never deep clean or polish any more cause my patterns were always worse . Bore snake
Re: When you polish a gun and
after you have cleaned it you want to get all the oil and cleaner out is why I say denatured. Now if gun does not pick back up take choke out look at it and brush good. Then burn some bird shot up see if it helps it come back. The thing with polish you can make a spiral in the barrel. That starts wad to spin and will mess pattern up.
