Bergara Barrels.

Post by redarrow »

I've been thinking about a 7mm 08 barrel for my TC Encore. Seems like a pretty good price on E Bay. Any thoughts on the quality of the Bergara barrels ?

Haven't tried one personally but read a lot of good things. Their process seems bullet proof. I am thinking of trying one of their new budget rifles.

I've always had good luck on ebay, as long as you look at all the pics and read the description completely. I hope it drives tacks for you!

I thought eBay stopped allowing the sales of gun parts?

Good luck with the barrel, Billie.

They only allow certain parts like barrels and stocks.

Didn't know that. Thx. Kind of odd that they'd allow barrels as they are an integral, necessary part of any gun.

The way I hear it they dont allow choke tubes. What kinda crap is that? No receiver parts either.

I'd like to know the "logic" used to determine what parts are allowable for sale & which are not.

Unfortunately George, there is no logic. No rhyme or reason.

Right now they have over 147,00 parts listed.

Granted my experience is with muzzleloader. I shoot a early CVA optima elite with a bergara barrel and it's amazing. I have sighted in many cvas with regular CVA barrels and a few with bergara barrels. The bergara are always easier to set up and shoot tighter groups. The extra steps in the machining process matter IMO .

I was researching interchangeable barrels for my elite, and most everyone on forums like this remarked at the accuracy. Many posts were about encore barrels, and most said that they would outshoot a tc barrel on the encore frame.

Even that little break action single shot is remarked as a shooter. I believe that was there way of getting rid of extra barrels

Forgot about my CVA having a Bergara barrel. DUHH. It is very accurate.I do gotta say that it was the filthiest barrel /firrarm new in the box I have ever seen. Full of shaving and black soot. Probably took 2 hours to clean just the barrel.

But does your CVA have true bergara barrel, many versions do not go through the entire process

I think maybe they re thought some of their decisions.
