Son kills first bear on 12th Birthday.

Awful proud of my boy this year. Killed his first Pennsylvania Bear on his 12th birthday. during bear archery season. He has been huntimg with our crew the past few years, but this was his first day behind the trigger.



Then dad got one in rifle season a few days later. Eating lots of bear sausage this year lol.

My son's bear was 194. Mine was 195.

Is that a big bear for there. I have had 1 in my feeder this year over 400lbs. Same size in my feeder at lease. Too many for my taste.

They are average size bears for PA. Our crew has killed bears up to 600lbs. They are not common, but we usually get one in the 300-400lb. range every year.

Congrats to you and your son on two fine bears. I haven't eaten Bear since I was the age of your boy, so don't remember what it tasted like. Curious on how they clean out on the cuts of meat.
