Opening day dove season is something I look forward to every year.

The kids and I had a blast this year!

Hal...we went on opening day ourselves...had a grand ole time and put down 13 of those elusive little buggers...and it only took two boxes of shells to do it...

Pretty much. There was another section with a lot more doves, but full of hunters. We stayed in the empty area where the kids could run around more and still had a few doves to shoot at. I limited and my son killed 10. I thought that he did pretty well being that he forgot to take his turkey choke out from this spring. He killed a nice, high 40 yard double that impressed me a lot. But he couldn't hit the close ones to save his life.

My grandson shot almost a box with the .410 single shot, and never killed one. And my daughter just wanted to watch. They had a lot of fun playing hide and seek in the standing corn, looking for cool bugs, and playing 'dolls' with the dead doves.
