PIGMAN

Post by Gobbler »

I f you get the Sportsman Channel. This show is my favorite. Pigman is very entertaining and is not afraid to explain what they do.
He doesn't sugar coat it.
Pig control is vital anymore. They multiply exponentially.
My favorite ways to kill Hogs is spot and stalk, camp over a feeder, or catch them with dogs. But I am looking into a helicopter hunt in Texas.

Day time hog hunts, Longrange over bait. Night hunts I hunt archery & handgun in a Barronett Hub Hunting Blind. I like to go to small town in Texas south of Greenville or to Comanche TX. Comanche is were I longrange hunt for hogs, our shots are @ 500yards to 1000 yards bait sites @ them yardages. The large Box Blind is 20' high 400sq ft. in the middle of a hug in a sendero were each fingers off with bait site at varous yards.
I love the night hunts the best, I set up my blind & take my "Hog Light" mounted on a camera tri-pod that extends to 6'. I set-up over the blind so it shines over . This light reaches out to 75 yards. The blind is set-up 30yards from a bait site, the lights I use red slip-on filters. My hog light is power from a 27 series deep cell, that has a dusk to dawn switch wired to it.. I get 48hrs of continuous lighting. So they draw very little amps. I take my Kaw Mule loaded down with all this stuff. The hog was shot @ 31 yards by my T\C Contender 45 Win Mag @ 18yards @ 3:18AM Sunday morning. Night hunt I sit in my blind from 4:00PM til 8:00AM the following morning. I have a cooler of drinking, food and a great comfortable chair.

My lights shine out to 75 yards, and in the dead of dark hogs will come in their eye are the 1st to light up red, then they step into the outer range of the lights and you see this or these black mass with glowing red eyes. It's almost freaky like killing zombies or something. They come in fast to the bait sites and there constantly moving.

their on a dusk to dawn switch. they auto on & off . The lights come on @ dark & shut off & dawn. The on the whole night. Black Gold is great. They dont make it anymore. I have a full case of of it. The Grim Reaper is another attractant I use and work dang good.
